Yeah... I pass --disable-static to all BLFS packages as a matter of scripting, even if not all respect it. But on the one occasion where I did decide to spend the time to try and eliminate all static libraries from LFS and BLFS alike, I quickly realised that I was just wasting my time for no real benefit.
