Greetings. Working my way through my first build of LFS 7.4. I'm wondering, after building and installing all of the packages in Chapter 6, can the /tools directory be deleted? I see that find and strip are used in Section 6.65, but we have new copies of those in /bin and /usr/bin.
Also, regarding backing up prior to stripping, is it ok to exclude all of dev, proc, and sys from the backup. I'm thinking something like: tar --exclude=dev --exclude=proc --exclude=sys --exclude=sources \ -cjvPf lfs-7.4.tar.bz2 /mnt/lfs Is that reasonable? Thanks, Joel
