Just as a final note, I found that loadkeys also supports partial
pathnames when searching for keymaps, as in:
#loadkeys qwerty/es
That allows setting /etc/sysconfig/console like this:
KEYMAP="qwerty/es"
KEYMAP_CORRECTIONS="euro2"
FONT="lat0-16 -m 8859-15"
which I find more elegant from the user point of view.
I like that too. It's good to know, even if it's use is rare.
