Hi,

I would really appreciate if someone can help me setup plymouth in BLFS. I
want to build my own distro and I want it to be distributable. To this end
I have compiled all drivers in the kernel as modules. As a result of this
framebuffer initialization happends much later in the initialization
process when udev bootscript runs. I have tried a lot of things to get the
framebuffer up in the initramfs but to no avail. I tried splashy and
splashy works great. Only thing with splashy is that it needs to be
initialized only after framebuffer is initialized. This happens way too
late and a lot of messaged come up on the screen before a switch to splashy
graphics takes place. I have not been able to understand splashy's scripts
so I have my own bootscript to init splashy which basically calls splashy
boot and does some calculations for the progress bar which is then updated
using a modified version of evaluate_retval function in the boot scripts. I
believe plymouth would take care of all these but I have not been able to
get it working. Please help!

Regards
CK
