Hello,

I recently started using LFS to learn more about Linux, so I wanted to say
its really good! So thank you for writing it and thank you for maintaining
it too! I really appreciate all the work that goes into it and Its helped
me learn a great deal about a subject that has a great deal of depth.

Anyway, onto my issue:

While I was working on section 5.5 (Cross GCC installation) I was getting
an XZ decompression error, where the terminal would inform me that I didn't
have the xz-5.1.3alpha.tar.gz utilities installed. Rather foolishly I got
frustrated that I wasn't able to continue further, so I shut the computer
down and had a cup of tea, therefore I no longer have the full error
message that occurred.

However I was hoping that you might be able to help me pull together a list
of errors that you may have had with XZ or any other compression utilities
so that I may cross check them with my error and inform the appropriate
authorities.

1. Which version of the book?
2. What is the output of the version-check script in section vii?
