It depends so strongly on the hardware specs that I doubt there is a "typical" one. That said, I'm running multiple automated build of 7.6-rc1 for the purpose of testing "MAKEFLAGS=-j8" vs. "as in the book", on a Lenovo Thinkpad T440s.
