The LFS book provides commands to set up eth0 with a fixed address. For dhclient, see BLFS (specifically, dhcp). LFS uses iproute2, so if you *need* an equivalent of route, look at e.g. http://baturin.org/docs/iproute2/ - but you probably do NOT need a route command. ĸen -- Nanny Ogg usually went to bed early.
