I have just finished building LFS 7.6 but when I boot, it fails with '....
unable to mount root fs on unknown block 8,2'

I compiled the Kernel with support for SATA and ext4 in the kernel (i.e.
not modules) and carried out the copy operations as given in the book.

Then, from the host system (XUbuntu 14.10 64 bit), ran update-grub.

The grub boot screen shows the LFS installation as an option but it fails
with the kernel panic message.

Any ideas would be welcome.

Regards,

Anthony Price.
