Thanks. Tried that without results Hostname is already set in etc/hostname
Removing the redirection in the mountfs script didn't produce any error message. Shutdown -r gives the same reference to the (non-existent) rc.shutdown and the system locks. Re: top posting - I have changed the default in gmail in an attempt to fix the problem on top posting as default. Has it worked? A.P.
