That's your problem. Your gcc installation is linked to your host's
libraries instead of the temporary ones in /tools. That's why it won't
work in chroot. Only solution is to rebuild everything while being
extremely careful while doing so. Do not, I repeat do not try to type
out the commands on either gcc page in Chapter 5, as that's the most
likely way to fail.
