What's so strange about that? Steam has been available on Linux for some time now and major Valve titles are natively available on Linux, with more and more comming. SteamOS is based on Debian Wheezy, which will be used on Valve's Steam Machines, a PC-alike Console. In that case, DRM driver (as in Direct Rendering Manager) is mandatory for 3D.
