Hi Sumit,

first a general comment: it always helps if you mention which version
of the book you are currently using, and which section (and whether
this is the sysv or systemd version of the book). From your last
sentence I think you have tried this on both fedora 23 and fedora 24,
and failed each time at the same place ?

Trying to understand why your own build failed is good, as is
comparing the commands you ran (from your bash history), but after a
couple of repeated failures it is often better to ask for help here.

Now the bad news: the problem is somewhere before what you have
shown. If you logged the output, look for the first Error message.
If you didn't, please check that your configure command matched the
book (by looking at history in bash), also check that LFS_TGT is set
correctly, and then run (in the existing directory) :

make -j1 2>&1 | tee mylog

The -j1 is to keep everything in order. Then look at the 'mylog'
file and search for the first 'Error'.

The important message is somewhere in the lines before that - there
may be runs of 'configure' in various subdirectories, then make runs
various commands - probably the last command fails, and somewhere in
the messages from it is the descriptive message for why it fails
(probably a missing file, I guess).
