How would I go about doing that? There's no configure in the efivar
from github so per the hint I just ran the sed command:

Compile the package:
        sed 's|-O0|-Os|g' -i Make.defaults
        sed 's|-rpath=$(TOPDIR)/src/|-rpath=$(libdir)|g' \
             -i src/test/Makefile


Also I checked the links for libpopt.so using file. Both point to
libpopt.so.0.0.0 (/usr/lib and /usr/lib64)
