I have:
pierre@<hostname>:/sources$ md5sum zlib-1.2.10.tar.xz
40f9e5b387a917c60fc0981619dcdfba zlib-1.2.10.tar.xz
And book says: MD5 sum: d9794246f853d15ce0fcbf79b9a3cf13
Also, I compute the size 457 KB (with 1KB = 1024 B), and
the book has 460 KB. Maybe because 1 KB = 1000 B?
I have 40f9e5b387a917c60fc0981619dcdfba for the md5sum also.
When I compute sizes for LFS, I use:
LC_ALL=C ls -l --block-size=1024
For zlib-1.2.10.tar.xz I get
-rw-rw-r-- 1 bdubbs bdubbs 458 Jan 2 20:58 zlib-1.2.10.tar.xz
