When running the configure script for the psmisc package it fails - and does
not create a make file.
The last lines of output from the configure script are:

checking for tgetent in -ltinfo... no
checking for tgetent in -lncurses... no
checking for tgetent in -ltermcap... no
configure: error: Cannot find tinfo, ncurses or termcap libraries

I've tried to go back and re-install the ncurses package, but I have the same
issue with psmisc afterwards. Now I'm a bit lost as to why it can't find these
libraries.

Did you create the symlinks for ncurses under the paragraph "Many applications
still expect the linker to be able to find non-wide-character Ncurses
libraries..."?

Yes I have. And what are the wide-character and non-wide-character libraries?

I think it's what they call their UTF-8 support.

That's the only idea I have for you at the moment, sorry. I'm sure someone else
will chime in this evening though.

I had an issue with missing ncurses libs a while back...but I deviate from the
book a great deal, build as a multilib system and a bunch of other crazy
stuff... unfortunately I never did figure out what I did wrong, but I started
over with some improvements to my method and everything worked much better. I
doubt this solution applies to your situation though.
