Amen to that. There comes a point with MS stuff when one finally
gets the feeling of being a victim in some sort of a sick, and
ever more costly, joke.

Yeah. The final straw came recently when my 5-year-old hardware died and
I found that Microsoft will only support the latest processors from
Intel and AMD with Windows 10, which they only *lease* to you and force
you to sign a EULA allowing them arbitrary access to your system via
unknown backdoors to the OS. And who knows what other intrusions? I've
used MS stuff at home for 20 years largely because most everyone else
does, but I think that's changing. Now, Linux has enough support that
you can do most everything you need to. And I've used Unix/Linux systems
professionally my entire career.
