I _think_ the main problem was lack of the correct usb driver. Some, or all of the following (and perhaps any options for each of them). Device Drivers -> USB Support : Support for Host-side USB XHCI HCD (USB 3.0) EHCI HCD (USB 2.0) OHCI HCD (USB 1.1) or UHCI UCD (most -old- intel and via controllers) Device Drivers -> Input Device Drivers -> Keyboards (possibly - it needs to be enabled, AT keyboard probably works and should be the default) Mice - options for Apple USB Touchpad or Multitouch (at a guess) If you have lspci on your host system, that should show you which controllers are present, or just enable all the USB drivers. On a macbook you probably also want Device Drivers -> Macintosh device drivers to get 3-button emulation working on the mouse. ĸen -- I live in a city. I know sparrows from starlings.
