When CPU is above a critical temperature limit the kernel prevent damage by shutting down. It happened to me in some old computers. In this case the non starting behaviour can be a unrelated boot misconfiguration or phisical hardware damage. Try a external boot like a live-usb to test you hardware and get the logs in /var/log of your LFS disk... Normally in logs we can understand what happened.
