Yours might have faster RAM. The details of getting it to boot (powerpc-utils, yaboot) were in cross-lfs, looks as if that was updated fairly recently and still covers ppc64 - http://clfs.org/view/git/ppc64-64/index.html Hope you enjoy it - the last time I used mine was many years ago. I did try booting it and then putting a newer kernel on it some years ago, but even that was in the days of 3.10 stable kernels. I've forgotten most of what I knew about it, and I'd like to forget the rest (e.g. using lower-quality ogg files for music over nfs, because the network connection was so slow). Latterly, apart from the 64-bit kernel and 64-bit gcc, binutils, I built all 32-bit userspace (smaller files, less slow to compile). ĸen -- Truth, in front of her huge walk-in wardrobe, selected black leather boots with stiletto heels for such a barefaced truth. - Unseen Academicals -- http://lists.linuxfromscratch.org/listinfo/lfs-support FAQ: http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/blfs/faq.html Unsubscribe: See the above information page Do not top post on this list.
