Is it chapter 5 or chapter 6? I have the same error in chapter 5 (we do not care, since the readline extension module is not needed). But I do not have the error in chapter 6. If you have this error in chapter 6, it may mean something went wrong when installing chapter 6 readline: From chroot, what is the output of: ls /usr/include/readline ?
