Hi there,
Some Linux packages contain kernel configuration in BLFS. It says
"Enable the following option in the kernel configuration and recompile
the kernel". I also attached one example picture.
My question is; After configuration kernel, Should I recompile kernel at
the moment or can I wait to finish BLFS and compile kernel end of the
BLFS? If I do recompiling every time, it's gonna time losing. What is
your opinion?
If you actually want to use the application after building it, then you
need to rebuild the kernel, install it, and reboot. If you run tests
for the package it probably will be required also.
If you are just building a lot of packages, you can defer rebuilding the
kernel until you do want to use one of the packages that need the
updated kernel.
