Hi everyone, This is to announce the availability of a software I wrote to automate the LFS build.
On https://github.com/joaomdsc/pkg you will find a set of python scripts that parse the LFS book and generate shell scripts to perform the build. You will need to set a few variables first, then run the scripts, which run mostly unattended, and after several hours your Linux system will be ready to boot. It was tested on versions 9.0-systemd, 9.1-systemd, and 9.1 (the python code is really agnostic to the version), building on Debian 10.2 and Fedora 31. The nice thing about generating shell script code is that it lets you interrupt the build if needed: you'll just have to edit the scripts to remove whatever's been done already and launch the script again. Documentation can be found at https://pkg.readthedocs.io. A big thanks to the LFS community for this great resource that is the LFS book! I'm hoping that this contribution can make it easier for people to harness the huge value embedded in the book. Please let me know how it runs for you, if you test it.
