I love lftp and all it has to offer (and I'm sure it's been said before but it's true :) ) but i compiled lftp --with-socksdante and i noticed that it reads /etc/socks.conf without having to use 'socksify' provided by dante client but I cannot connect to any site through lftp while trying to use dante's socks the error i get when using lftp through a socksv4 proxy is posted below $ lftp lftp :~> debug 9 lftp :~> open ftp.debian.org ---- Resolving host address... ---- 2 addresses found lftp ftp.debian.org:~> ls ---- Connecting to ftp.debian.org (128.101.80.131) port 21 ---- Closing control socket ls: read(control_socket): Transport endpoint is not connected i have dante client 1.1.13 and lftp 2.5.4 installed dante's socksify works with normal ftp and lftp works when not compiled with the '--with-socksdante' if any more information is needed (strace?) I'd be glad to provide it as I have come to the end of my rope thanks for any help
