Thanks for the explanation.

The disk on the server side is 100% full. The server
returns 452. The lftp client falls into an infinite
retry loop. (I have attached the debug log to this
mail.) Ideally, I would like to have a configurable
control where the client can be made to exit with an
error after N tries. I have set all the max variables
like net:max-retries to single digit (non-zero)
values.

It can be argued that the server should return a 552
(permanent negative reply) instead of a 452. However a
lot of servers out there don't do so. They return
transient errors on disk full. lftp doesn't seem to
robust enough in such cases. What do you think? Is it
possible to workaround the infinite retry sequence?

Thanks in advance!
