directory caching bug

If i do a "ls -c" to sort the directory listing on date (doesnt work on all ftpd's) it will not be properly cached, so if i do a "cd <tab>" it will issue a "ls" on it's own again while i already did a "ls -c". It doesnt properly cache on every "ls" with an option, is this fixable so every issued "ls" with an option will be cached in the same way?
