Hello,

Can't thank you enough for creating lftp. It is
a wonderful utility. Love the mirror command
for both uploading and downloading.

I'm using lftp to download files from an ProFTPD 1.2.9 server.

Here's the sub-command I have to use to get it to
work:

set ftp:ssl-allow no

Without the above subcommand, lftp hangs on the mirror
and ls commands. It stops completely and is unable to
go on.

My problem? I can't seem to get lftp to blow off directories
that are empty. I'm using the mirror command to download
an entire directory tree.

By "blow off" I mean that lftp is not willing to download the
empty directory and go on. Why is this?

Instead, lftp seems to think something is wrong and keeps
trying to download the directory over and over again. It
keeps doing a "Delay before reconnect" and tries again.

It tries several times to download the empty directory before
moving on.

Is there a way to alter this behavior? Normally lftp downloads
a whole directory tree very quickly. However, with empty directories
present, minutes become hours.

Thanks so much,

Ed Abbott
