filter to tab completion

I dnow know it's able someway,  but  I want a way to filter out certan
chars in a filename, for example:

we have this tree:

root 
  |
  -------movies
              |
              --------- "-= old =-"
              --------- "[-MCMVIX]
              --------- "[MM+]
                          |
                          ---------- "-= TC =-"
etc....

it's rader jobbish to enter and change keyboardplacement just to enter the dir.
The only thing I want to do have is an option to remove som of the
letter, so if I have dir [MM-] ,when I complete it it search only on
MM+
