thanks Justin,
i received my e-mail as well... it looks i'm on the list :-)

ok, so here is the question and explanation :

Here in Canon I'm trying to test FTPS link to IBM Information Exchange. At the
moment we use standard FTP through lease line and since recently i'm exploring
FTPS via public internet (for some reason IBM IE doesn't use SFTP/SCP that
would easy our life).

We need just command line client (to use shell scripts with it) on AIX box.
I Asked for 'FTP-TLS', that is in above link ,and Our Unix admin tried but he
had issues with compilation (most likely not portable on AIX machine)

After some search i run on to
http://www.ford-hutchinson.com/~fh-1-pfh/ftps-ext.html and there i saw lftp
client. Seems powerful and decided to give it a go. Our admin installed it on
AIX box version (I've send him a link
http://aixpdslib.seas.ucla.edu/packages/lftp.html and link of lftp homepage,
and he choose 3.0.13 ver.)

At the same time i noticed that i overlooked above ford link as they marked
lftp with a '?' for X.509 authentication , and that is a MUST as IBM requires
it (they issued us that certificate).
Hence the question, is X.509 supported in LFTP or not?

btw. searching your archive i saw x509 mentioned in "Re: unstable debian lftp
packages" 'gnutls_x509_crt_list_import' mentioned (Alexander V. Lukyanov, Mon,
23 May 2005 05:37:35 -0700. )... looking at Gnutls WebPage and your archive
e-mail , is it true if i say that LFTP requires gnutls for x509 ?

oh and If we can't use LFTP, do you have an advice for another client?

Thank you and Best Regards,
Branko
