I wonder if someone can give me an advice if lftp is a suitable tool for what I'm trying to do . . . OK, I have two sites, a cluster-site and a workstation-site. The only connection between both is with telnet for interactive work and ftp for data transfer. Both can only be initiated on the workstation-site. I'm trying to find a way of having automated data transfer of job results available on the cluster-site to the workstation-site after the job is finished. To be a bit more explicit, people are sitting at the workstation-site and they are starting jobs at the cluster-site. When they start a job on a cluster, they could also start a transfer script on a workstation which could check for results (e.g. in a loop) on a cluster and get the results as soon as the job on the cluster finished. Did somebody do something like that with lftp? Does somebody have a script which could be helpful to look at ? Thanks a lot for any advice and best regards, Heiner
