Cannot reproduce it yet:

lftp ftp:/> j -v
[0] queue (ftp://ftp)
        ftp://ftp/
        Now executing: [1] mirror -c pub
        Commands queued:
            cd /
         1. mir -c pub
         2. mir -c pub
         3. mir -c pub
...
        64. mir -c pub
