Hello!

lftp provides the variable "ftp:timezone" which, as far as I
understand, sets the time zone of the ftp server. However, I don't see
any effect of this variable.

The default value of ftp:timezone is "GMT" which, I think, is a bad
choice for the default value. How many ftp servers in the GMT timezone
an average user is visiting? I think much less than servers in his own
timezone. The docs says that assigning an empty value to ftp:timezone
specifies that the server is using the same timezone as the user's
machine. I think that empty value would be the best default value for
it.

However, as I said, it doesn't seem to work whatever I assign to it. Is
there anything besides assigning something to ftp:timezone I should do
for this to work?
