I think this is not a mistake of lib3ds. The model exported from 3dsmax is just 
the triangles, one and one, the polygon is not like the NURBS paramateric line 
and face, tesslation is not a lib3ds work. So, if we want to get the smoother 
model, we can use "Smoth" tool in 3dsmax or others 3D modeling tool, or use 
some library such as CGAL to get the smoother model.

Hi I’ve got lib3ds using normals from the values produced in the face->normal,  
this is OK but a bit “boxy”, so for example a sphere looks like a huge polygon 
(I now it is but I’m sure you know what I mean), can anyone show me  way I can 
get “smother” effects from the library? Thanks.
