I don't think that helps. In order to stay compatible with broken apps, we need to basically keep using ac3_fixed as ac3. I think that's OK, anyone have a patch handy? An AV_LOG_WARNING would be appropriate though, at least if the user opened ac3 instead of ac3_fixed/float.
