Greetings, I'd like to understand how the protocol selection works when opening an url. I'm specially interested in understanding the Apple HTTP Live Streaming support.
The demuxer selection I understand very well. It is done providing file information and a small chunck of data to each demuxer's probe function. The greatest returned score will indicate the best demuxer for the work. Is there a similar approach to protocols? I'm working (trying to) on the Smooth Streaming support for FFMpeg and I believe it would be great to understand how that works. If the responsible for the Apple HTTP Live Streaming module could give me a hand, it would me great. Thanks very much. -- Marcus Nascimento
