A brief demonstration:
avconv -i t.jpg -vcodec copy -f avi -y out.avi
md5sum out.avi

avconv -i t.jpg -vcodec copy -f avi md5:
042d46df914ba22cecc6a449407b6f61
'md5:' is the output target for various FATE tests. Can we really trust
it? I suspect the problem is that the md5: target is non-seekable as this
same test repeated with MPEG system target outputs matching MD5 hashes.
