I've discovered what this is -- and I want to scream.

This is a reappearance of GCC Bugzilla #40411 which I have commented about
before and am still boggled that it has not been fixed (on the basis that
too much old code wasn't properly linked with values-xpg6.o to get correct
C99 behaviour on Solaris).

I'll send a proper fix for our configury soon.

Mans, is there a better place to add these flags? From first glance I don't
think we have a section for handling HOST_{C,CPP,LD}FLAGS in configure,
especially as they may differ when cross-compiling.
