Since Gentoo now has some kind of support for x32 I was able to get a
system running with it.

Seems like it's going to be a trainwreck:

 - sizeof(void*) == sizeof(long) == sizeof(sizeof(0)) == 4
   which means we really have no way to find out whether this is
   32-bit or 64-bit;

 - afaict yasm does not have support for x32 so we're stuck without
   yasm;

 - in general it's a bloody mess.
