Hello. I am willing to participate in Libav development, namely in development of the internal AAC encoder for the time being. I am pretty familiar with C programming, though I haven't taken any part in codec development before. Also, I don't know very much about Ffmpeg/Libav internals yet.
Therefore I am seeking an opportunity to get introduced with the development process. I have chosen the AAC encoder because I wish there would be a 100% free (as in freedom) fully MPEG-4 compliant implementation with quality on par with (or higher than) that of certain proprietary encoders. I consider the "Low Complexity" profile being rather the most important of all, due to its broad overall support in various hardware and software products. Please suggest me a task to start with. Any recommendations on the documentation for learning necessary info for the development would be welcome.
