OS/2 still uses a.out from GCC (then converting to OMF32) so we need
a.out support until OMF is added to YASM or our LIBC maintainer finishes
adding ELF support (perhaps halfway done but he doesn't spend much time
on OS/2 now).
This would require us to "fork" x86inc.asm, which is
undesirable.
Does x264 build on OS/2 at all, or can it? That would be
the proper place to bring this issue up.
The problem is lack of YASM support. x264 does build with some assembly
patching to make NASM happy and configure patching but x264 won't accept
OS/2 patches, probably because they don't like NASM.
The other option is to build with the OMF toolchain. I'll create a patch
this evening and test.
