Looks ok I think.
The HAVE_ASM_MOD_Y configure item could probably be removed
afterwards as well.
oh, I didn't realize this was the only use of it. This patch is just
for review and will be squashed into the patch removing the use of
HAVE_ASM_MOD_Y.
