Removed a superfluous "if enabled threads" from Diego's original
patch, and tested in a mingw setup with -arch i386.
I think that was required at some point. Wonderful that you
doublechecked and removed it as unnecessary.
Yes, it was required in the earlier (flawed) attempts at solving this, but
not required any longer with the final, merged solution.
