At FOSDEM Martin raised the issue of the general usefulness of the
Blackfin architecture optimizations, arguing that they are not worth
the trouble and should be dropped entirely.  I guess it's time to
revisit and decide that point for good.

I don't really remember raising this point myself, but I don't think there's any practical use for these optimizations given how many extra hoops one has to jump through to even make it run on such hardware.
