Hap uses snappy, so Vittorio added the dependency on it, then Tom asked
if snappy support could be automagic.

Automagic is quite bad for distributions so I implemented snappy and
used it for the Hap decoder/demuxer.

This is really the most questionable justification for NIH I've ever
heard.

I had enough complaints about png and stuff requiring zlib and bz2 that I went and replaced it. Probably once I get enough motivation I'll complete the zlib implementation that is floating around and use it all over.
