Hello,

I have not been able to get avplay.exe to display anything on Windows 7 (32 or 64 bit). I have tried avplay from the version 9, 10 and 11 pre-compiled distributions of libAV. I have also tried it on 3 different Windows 7 PCs with different graphics cards, including Intel HD4000 and nVidia. Avplay never displays any text or error message at all and usually closes immediately. Sometimes I get a black window, but no image or video. Once, I saw a single blue pixel in the window. Even with help options like '-h' and '-version' no text is displayed. The other tools, avconv and avprobe work fine for me and ffplay works fine. I read the online page for avplay, and it seems to be mostly just a copy of the page for avconv.

I *think* I have all the required dlls installed, including libgcc_s_sjlj-.dll, but maybe there is another one I don't know about? I suspect avplay must require something else than what ffplay and avconv require. But what?

I would like to use avplay instead of ffplay with WinFF, if there is a way to get it to work without recompiling.
I would really appreciate any help.

Thanks, Clay Montgomery
