Yeah, I ended up having to comment out the newer code and reverting back to
the original code. Theoretically, the newer code is "better", but the bug
make it unusable and it would have taken a long time to fix it. I've been
using the version I've modified for months now and everything works fine.

The RTP stuff still works with a lot of sources, just not certain cameras.
I would at least give it a try for your embedded device... if it doesn't
work, I can show you what I changed and since you're probably compiling
libav anyway, it shouldn't be too difficult for you to tweak it.
