I know an excellent and quite fast software called "MPEG Streamclip",
which handles all sorts of formats and codecs, including ProRes.
http://www.squared5.com/

- From what i can tell, it seems to be a VERY closely relative to DNxHD,
bitrates and filesizes are almost identical, and transcoding between
the two is done really really fast, even for large (2-10 Gig) files.
Maybe it's not that hard to implement after all, since there already
is support for dnxhd?

Anyway, I have files for you to play around with but the ftp seems not
to hold the incoming directory any more.

My sample is roughly 146 MB. If you tell me where to put it, i'll be
happy to upload it.

Thanks and greetings,
    Nils
