Thanks so much Thomas and Jean-Francois for your responses.  I will give
this a shot over the coming weekend!  :)

I am trying to merge videos from two different angles of a music performance
into one view for display on my web page.  If all goes well, I may
experiment with other bits of ffmpeg as well.  I'm sure I'll have more
questions as I progress.  Thanks again!
