Help ....

I spent the past two weeks fighting this and I can't seem to get it
resolved.

I have an app which will create a VOB compliant video from images and
audio. The image part works fine but the audio sounds terrible, like it
went through a chopper.

I think I am doing the decode, resample, and encode part right but there
is something missing which I can't figure out.

I spent all day today to boil my problem down to one file and put it under
http://www.qtdvd.com/test.tar.bz2

You need Qt 4.x to compile. Simply change the test.pro file to point to
the ffmpeg libs and run
> qmake; make
the audio / image files are part of the package.

Also I noticed if the orig stream is in the right format ( ac3, 48kHz,
448kbps ) then it almost sounds right it only adds some serious delay to it.

Any help appreciated.
