Is there also a way to add black bars to the output file? If I set my output
file resolution at 640x480, but my input file is 16:9, the output will be
640x480 but with the video NOT stretched to the edges...rather with black
bars (letterboxing) on the top and bottom?

Do you need Libavfilter for this? or can ffmpeg do this on its own? Do you
know the command lines to accomplish this?

Any info is of course greatly appreciated.
