I built libavcodec, libavformat and x264 for an iPhone 3GS. I've been using these 3 libs to encoding the screen images into H.264 with x264's ultrafast preset. With 320x480, I could achieve about 15 frames/second. Now, I'm encoding recorded PCM audio to the AAC stream. However, with 22.05Khz sample rate and 16-bit stereo samples, the AAC encoding performance is quite low. For 0.5 second PCM audio data (44100 bytes), it took about 80-100 ms to encoding into AAC format.
